My New Carseat

We switched Lilyana out of her first infant carrier. We know we read everywhere that it shouldn't be done until one year of age and 20 lbs, well Lilyana is 11 months old and 18 lbs so close enough! She was getting too hard to travel with in the infant carrier. She did not like staring at the back of a seat and not being able to see what is going on around her. She would cry and cry and cry every time we had her in the car. Now she couldn't be more happier! She loves being able to see us and the new chair has more room so she even looks more comfortable. I was very leery about making the change but now I am glad we did!

Christmas at The Weeamson's

We were able to make the trip to MN right after Christmas to visit Mike's brother and his family. Lilyana did a great job for the 6 hour car drive. It was a great time, we got to stay at their new house(which is amazing) and meet Ashton for the first time(born Nov. 14th). Lilyana had so much fun playing with her cousin Parker.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was spent at The Peterson's. Lilyana had a lot of fun playing with all of her cousins. From the pictures you can see that she really enjoyed the instructions from one of her presents! Grandpa Peterson really enjoyed opening his leg lamp from us and proudly displayed it in the front window right away for all the neighbors to see. Lilyana remained in good spirits for the most part considering the long day she had. It was such a great 1st Christmas as a family. It is so nice to have the entire Peterson family together as well, always such a good time.

Christmas Morning

On Christmas Eve we waited until Lilyana went to sleep then snuck her presents under the tree, we know...she is way too young to understand any of this but we were so excited to do it! She did enjoy ripping the wrapping paper open Christmas morning and smiled at every toy she saw inside! Grandma Peg stopped over for breakfast and to deliver more presents! It turned out just how I pictured our first Christmas to be with our first child.

Christmas Eve

This Christmas Eve was spent quite differently then our previous ones. We used to always attend the midnight service at our church which was always so beautiful. It would end the service by everyone in the congregation singing "Silent Night" by candlelight. It is so neat and it just made it feel like Christmas finally arrived. But this year we were not about to bring a 10 month old to a church service that late! We attended a 3:00 service and after church we headed over to Sally's. Lilyana was having a lot of fun showing off with all eyes on her! She also had to get a picture with her head sticking out of the little nook on the staircase, every child on Mike's side of the family has done this dating back to years and years ago. Sally's house has remained in the family since the 1930's and is such a beautiful house. We enjoyed spending our Christmas Eve there.

Lilyana and Pede

We went shopping at Costco back in the middle of December and this box from there has been sitting in our kitchen ever since! The cats love to take a nap in the box and Lilyana loves to join Pede in the box as well! Pede and the rubbermaid containers keep her busy for a little bit so we are able to get things done in the kitchen. When she is not preoccupied she loves to help us with the dishes by climbing in the dishwasher!
